Frequently Asked Questions & Pricing

You may choose to do an assessment if any one or more of the following apply to you or your child:

• difficulty with reading, writing, or math

• difficulty paying attention, following through on tasks.

• feeling restless, interrupting others, being forgetful, losing things.

• emotional problems, difficulty in maintaining relationships, or decision-making.

• difficult in social interactions, communication, and restricted repetitive behaviours.

• significant problems are preventing you or your child from reach goals.

An assessment varies depending on your or your child’s needs. For example, assessments can measure cognitive, emotional and educational functioning, processing, attention, memory, and personality.

Our first session will involve a clinical interview to gather information about your or your child’s concerns, what questions you would like to be addressed by the evaluation, and informed consent.

An assessment does not guarantee that you or your child will have a diagnosis. During the clinical interview, we can both decide if your psychologist is the best person to provide the services to you or your child.

An assessment typically takes 12+ hours and includes the following:

• Clinical interview to obtain relevant history and information on strengths, concerns, and struggles.

• Screening - complete rating scales and review school report cards (if applicable).

• Formal testing may take place in 2-4 hour sessions. The specific testing will depend on the problems/concerns you describe during the clinical interview. Sometimes we may request for additional information or testing before drawing conclusions.

• Scoring, interpretation, and report writing. The written report is provided to you at the time of the feedback session.

• Feedback session to discuss and explain the test results, diagnostic impressions, and treatment recommendations.

• An Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disorder, or ADHD assessment costs $2200.

• Autism often occurs alongside other conditions such as ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, depression, or intellectual disability. Our autism assessments include screening for these co-occurring conditions to ensure accurate results and tailored recommendations. An Autism Spectrum Disorder assessment costs $3500.

• You will receive a written report that includes strengths, weaknesses, recommendations, and accommodations, as applicable.

• The assessment can be paid in full at the time of the clinical interview.

• Alternatively, the assessment can be paid in two payments.

• For an Autism assessment the payment schedule is as follows:

• The first payment of $600 is due at the time of the clinical interview. During the interview you can decide if we are a good fit, or you may choose to discontinue the assessment after the clinical interview. In this case, you will pay only $600.

• The second payment of $2900 is due at the time of testing.

• For all other assessments the payment schedule is as follows:

• The first payment of $400 is due at the time of the clinical interview. During the interview you can decide if we are a good fit, or you may choose to discontinue the assessment after the clinical interview. In this case, you will pay only $400.

• The second payment of $1800 is due at the time of testing.

• Payment is made directly to Vandana Psychological Services Prof. Corp., and you may submit the receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement (if you are eligible).

• Alternatively, you may provide me with your insurance details and I can submit the invoice directly to the insurance company for reimbursement. You are responsible to cover the cost that is not paid by your insurance company.

• Some insurance policies will cover the cost of the assessment. Please check coverage with your insurance provider.

• The assessment typically takes 12+ hours.

• The report will be ready within 2-6 weeks after we receive all the rating scales, report cards, and all other relevant information.

• We do not issue the report without a feedback session; we think it is essential to convey the information directly to you and answer any questions you may have.

You will receive a copy of your assessment report. If a child is being assessed, the parent(s) will receive a copy of the assessment report. The assessment results will not be released to anyone without your or the parents written consent.
